Closet Revamp

Do you, or someone you know, have a closet in the house that resembles this?
Well, projects like this get me so pumped. Give me a closet like this, 10 x-large trash bags and…
BAM! Mission accomplished.
This is just a glimpse of what I can do to your closet!!
Okay. I promise to keep at least SOME of the stuff:
I would love to get in YOUR closet too!

Feeling Blue

I am feeling blue today. I love doing the monochromatic thing with a slight pop of color (yellow heels!). Tailored blue jeans and a vintage hanky for a pocket square just make me smile.
Yes, I said tailored blue jeans.
No, they didn’t come that way.
I recently had a conversation with a guy about the difficulties of jean shopping. Who knew that not only do women have a hard time but guys too!
(What a relief.)
I asked him if he got his pants tailored, and he, like most folks, gave me this bewildered look.
Yes. You can get your jeans tailored. It is not weird. Every pair of pants that I own get tailored to some degree. I am not the tallest tree in the forest, so I almost always have to get them hemmed.
I have a ‘weird’ shaped body (quads, no hips, small waist, a little bump in the back) so nothing fits off the rack. I almost  always have to get the waist taken in too.
I buy the jeans that fit my quads then get the waist taken in and Voila! A perfect pair of jeans. Some places, like Nordstrom, will even hem your pants for free! Just ask.
Are you stuck in a fashion rut?
Desperate for a new spring look?
Feel like there is no hope for your shape & size?
I would LOVE to help.

Style Staples

There are a few things that I almost always wear.
1. jeans
2. cuff/bracelet
3. jacket/blazer/cardigan
These are my staples. Being stylish is not about doing crazy avant garde things on a daily basis (unless you are a crazy avant garde person). It is about knowing who are you and speaking that in the non-verbal form of communication which we call fashion.
This is something learned over time and over some not so great fashion choices. It is about knowing your body and dressing it appropriately. I think most people wish something different for their body.  We can all point to our flaws (could someone please send me hips and height already!!) but having great style embraces these things.
It wears cute wraps that give the illusion of hips and puts on a heel or makes her hair as spiky as possible to make herself a bit taller (it works!)
It starts though with knowing your body then playing up the strengths and minimizing those things that we aren’t so excited about.
This is my job. This is what I get to help people do. I love being able to see someone literally come alive because they feel beautiful or like a GQ model. I would love to help you look as great on the outside as you are on the inside. (And if you aren’t great on the inside then we can work on that too 🙂
Have a great weekend!

Oh sweet spring!

(pic taken from

I just love spring. I know it is not officially here but signs of it are definitely in the air. Little cut off shorts can be seen in the malls and floral prints dressed and generously weaved in and out of the pages of our favorite fashion magazines.
The thing I love most about spring is the newness. It is as if God is giving us all another chance to get in shape and drink more water and wear more fabulous outfits. (I doubt that is what he was really thinking)
So with a new season come a new look and new ideas. I would love you, the reader, to have a say into what you want to see on this blog. I have some ideas but would LOVE your input.
Are you tired of seeing what the little one or myself wore?
Do you want more how to’s?
Just leave a quick comment and
Thank you for reading!

What I wear running errands:

You will never catch me wearing sweats while running errands. I know some folks do and I am very saddened by this. It is just as easy to throw on a pair of boyfriend 1. I don’t have a boyfriend. 2. If I did, I doubt he would be my size jeans,  a 3/4 sleeve shirt and some loafers and not to mention it looks a lot better.

Shoes: Josef Seibel (my favourites)
Jeans: Levi’s
Shirt: Ella Moss
Leather Jacket: GAP
Scarf: H&M
Have a stylish weekend!

What the little one wore yesterday

I love when Bailey gets ready by herself. She is so cool and creative. This jacket is going to be a staple for the spring. I found it in Kansas City. The flowers on the pockets are stitched on.
Jacket: Vintage
Favorite shoes and skirt: Thrifted
Tights: H&M

What is your spring staple? Don’t have one yet? Then let’s go shopping!
